Using external microphone or recorder for oral annotations?

Hello SayMore users and developers,

Is it possible to use an external microphone or audio recorder (connected to the computer) to do oral annotations (careful speech and/or translations)?  It seems like the default is using the computer's built-in mic, but is there any way to change that to get a better recording?

Not having a USB mic (yet), we usually connect our DAR (Zoom H4n) as the external mic. It gets better sound, but complicates the setup. As I understand, SayMore is still limited to 16 bit, so it should not be used for original recording, tho I think it is fine for annotations.
