My first very short (5 minute) 4k movie attempt fails to render to mpeg-4 giving error message "Failed on reading Video" after 2%. Another attempt to make an avi file gave the same error but DID convert clip 1 only to the destination folder. I haven't attempted writing to a disc yet.
This is the first time I have used Ultimate X9 (after using 7 quite happily). I purchased to VS 9 utilise 4K .mov files from my JVC GY-HM170 camcorder so naturally I am more than disappointed. In addition, despite smart proxy being enabled, playback in the program is VERY broken and out of sync. Playback via the program is showing something like every tenth frame and the playback point indicator skips and judders across - transitions are impossible to view. Computer is windows 7 home premium 64 bit with core i7 processor and 16 Gb RAM. Subsequently I installed servicepacks 1 and 2, unfortunately in the wrong order as the update in the program gave no indications and I found them online in the wrong order!
Further update I went back to the project and deleted clip 2 just to see if there was some corruption at that point however it made no difference, the same error "Failed on reading Video" after 2%. Any help appreciated.
If Your footage plays back choppy then maybe your computer or Corel Videostudio aren't well suited to handle the codec your camera shoots in? Maybe you could look into transcoding the files before editing?
Is there any possibility that this might be a temp storage issue. Most video programs write to a temp directory when rendering a video. Do you have enough space in your temp directory for this purpose?
Over the last 25 years or so of video editing, I have owned and used many / most existing suites, from Corel, Sony, Ulead, Magix, Edius, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Cyberlink, TMPGE Pegasys, VideoReDo, Matrox, muVee, Nero, Serif, Avid, and several others, and would certainly put Corel at or near the bottom of this list.
Suggest you try Cyberlink Power Director. Its 4K handling is very smooth on a reasonable i7 quad or 6 core machine and the price is reasonable, less than $100, with a free trial to ensure compatability and user satisfaction.
I think .MOV is related to Apple. On the older versions of Premier Elements, it borrowed codecs from Quicktime. So, if you were editing .mov files, Quicktime had to be installed. Could that be true of Videostudio too?
The Lumix S9 is Panasonic's newest full-frame mirrorless camera. It allows users to create their own custom looks for out-of-camera colors and is the first full-frame Lumix camera aimed squarely at social media content creators.
The Sony a9 III is the world's first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature a global electronic shutter with simultaneous readout. After extensive testing of this 120 fps sports camera, to see what you gain (and, perhaps, lose).
The Fujifilm X100VI is the sixth iteration of Fujifilm's classically-styled large sensor compact. A 40MP X-Trans sensor, in-body stabilization and 6.2K video are the major updates, but do they make the camera better?
