Although if you want to get unbanned / fix the elsewhere error you will still need one. I recommend LDPlayer, Nox, or MEmu if needed. Bluestacks is also an option but is more difficult to root as it doesn't have a built in option.

Enter the command: py -m pip install -U battle-cats-save-editor into command prompt or another terminal to install the editor (NOT the Windows Python app). If that doesn't work then use python3 or python instead of py in the command

You will need to get one of the emulators listed earlier, I recommend LD Player because I know that it works with this method. If you change the default install location, make sure to keep a note of it for it later

To use the options in the editor to get and push your save data to the game, you will need to have adb in your path system environment variable. The editor will try to do this automatically, but it may not work. So do this if it doesn't (If you're not using windows look up how to do this):

If you are using an emulator: Go to your emulator's install directory, if you'reusing LDPlayer it will most likely be in C:/LDPlayer/LDPlayer4.0.Then find adb in that folder (other emulators might have it in the bin directory)

If you press play you may get a The current Save Data is in violation message, if so press ok and try again and it should go away, if it doesn't then either you've done something wrong or the process didn't work. You may need to follow the tutorial in the second part of the old help video here (3:40) and use the Old Fix elsewhere error / Unban account (needs 2 save files) feature instead

Instead of hacking in cat food, just edit everything in that you can buy with cat food, e.g battle items, catamins, xp, energy refills (leaderships), etc. If you really want catfood then you can clear and unclear catnip missions with the feature Catnip Challenges / Missions then entering 1 when asked. You'll need to collect the catfood in-game after each clear though

Last month on the 20th, this game was released in Japan. I kinda forgot about it until now, at first I was very interested in it. I still am, but from the trailer it seems to be a major expansion of Pop on the 3DS with new modes and all that. I really hope the energy thing is gone since it's a paid game like Pop (which kept the energy thing for some stupid reason), is there anyone out there interested in this? I always end up liking games that no one else gives a crap about, lol.

For those that don't know, Battle Cats is originally a free-to-play mobile game. It's like a...tower-defense...? You collect cats and defeat levels to make them stronger and collect new cats. I found out about it via one of Markiplier's videos from last year and I've been playing ever since. Dunno why I love it, it's...very bizarre with what cats you get. Not to mention all the weird enemies you face as well.

EDIT: Last August came the announcement of The Battle Cats unite, an English version of the game but only in the SEA (South East Asia) region. But since the Switch is Region free, why wait for a US version that may still not happen anytime soon yet? Hong Kong's eShop has the game and it's out now, to make things easier, use PlayAsia to grab 100 HKD (Hong Kong Dollars), the physical version also on Play Asia is oddly expensive for some reason.

Also, despite this game originally being a free-to-play mobile game and this version still having the Energy mechanic. I can tell you this, Cat Food (the in-game currency that you would normally grind for or pay with real money) is given to you LIKE CRAZY in this version. So don't let the Energy thing bother you, fully refilling it doesn't cost much cat food anyways. That said, there's also NO micro-transactions at all in this either, no grinding (I will say I stopped playing the Japanese version after the main story and a few of those optional...maps or whatever they're called, but never had any issues with being walled off like with the mobile version)

EDIT 2: ...Okay so it doesn't give you Cat Food like crazy, but refilling the energy is still super cheap in this version. Just don't spend the food all the time. The game does give you plenty of BOTH tickets via the minigames, though.

...You mean spending Food to draw a capsule? Yeah, I'm fine with it, especially with the newest update. You can exchange cats for NP that can be used to make some True Forms stronger and give them additional traits and all that.

...I don't play FEH, so I dunno, it seems fine to me. Only thing that bugged me back in Pop (main reason why I never bought it) was that the Energy mechanic was still there even though you had to pay for it. I feel like it'll be the same here, no idea why it's there if it's not free-to-play.

It was like that in the 3DS version, I really hope they remove the energy this time. It would be an insta-buy then, if they keep the energy without making it free, then I dunno. I MIGHT get it just to have the game on the TV, my hand gets sore from holding the iPad for a long time from playing it for a couple of hours. lol

Okay so, I looked up more info on the 3DS version to get a better idea here. Based on the video I saw and posted, apparently the game does give you food quite frequently (and XP). As for energy, in addition to waiting for 90 minutes for a full recharge, you can spend just 3 food instead of 30. So, yeah...the energy is still annoying but this seems a bit better I guess.

All 3 main story games...modes...whatever, still have one chapter each. I figured it would be similar to the mobile game where it would be 3 chapters each. Game is much easier, which is what I expected. I do wish the final bosses were a bit more challenging though, oh well.

That said I see what they mean by countering the free to play mechanics, the energy thing is still there but it's no longer bothersome. The game gives cat food to you like crazy, not just that, but XP and tickets as well. So you can easily refill the energy thing once you run out. It does make it super easy to grab and upgrade cats...making the levels super easy. I wished they could've balanced it there, but at least I don't have to constantly wait to continue playing anymore.

The Battle Cats[a] is a free-to-play tower defense video game developed and published by PONOS Corporation for iOS and Android, originally released in Japan under the name Nyanko Great War (にゃんこ大戦争, Nyanko Dai Sensō). The Battle Cats debuted on the Japanese iOS App Store in November 2012 under the name Battle Nyankos, with Android support following in December of that same year, and became popular in both Japan and Korea. It later was deleted from both the US Google Play stores and App Store, with an improved version released on 17 September 2014.[3] A Microsoft Windows port was released in August 2017, and was available for download until late 2018, when PONOS Corporation ended support for it. It was ported to the Nintendo 3DS in 2016 and Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2018 and Southeast Asia in 2021.

The plot of The Battle Cats takes place across four main story sagas, three subchapter sagas in the Legends Stages, and various miscellaneous stages. Dialogue in the form of scrolling text before and after the completion of Chapters, unit and enemy descriptions, and battles during gameplay provide most of the game's lore and story.

In total, there are four sagas in the main story, which each contain three chapters, except for "The Aku Realms", which has only one chapter. There are ten chapters in total, but with the first three sagas, each chapter is essentially a reskin of the previous one. They contain the same levels, theme, and treasures across all three chapters, with the only difference being the amount, difficulty, and selection of enemies that appear in levels. Additionally, the opening and ending dialogue to each saga is reused across them.

The story begins in the first saga, Empire of Cats (commonly shortened to EoC), where the Cat army travels the world to conquer its nations. Their inferred creator/leader is the fictional deity, The Cat God,[4] who can be unlocked early on as a power-up and as a unit upon further progression. Throughout the saga, the Cat army recruits special Legend units, who are similar to the mythical "The Heroes of Legend"; ancient warriors who wielded immense power. After conquering Earth, the Cats end resistance to their rule by conquering the Moon and obtaining a time machine.

The second main story saga, Into the Future (shortened to ItF), begins after the Cats use the time machine they obtained at the end of Empire of Cats, transporting them to the year 29XX, where Aliens have conquered Earth. The Cats fight across new locations, including the Floating Continent and Great Abyss, and battle new enemies to reconquer the world. After driving the aliens off the planet, the Cats arrive on the moon, as they had during Empire of Cats. However, this time they face corrupted versions of the Legend units they recruited during Empire of Cats. After defeating them, the Legend units unlock their true forms, gaining more power and abilities. The saga ends with the Cat army deciding to build a rocket to venture further into space and continue the fight against the aliens.

The third main saga, Cats of the Cosmos (often shortened to CotC), begins with the Cats invading the cosmos, presumably using the rocket they built at the end of Into the Future. However, the Aliens out in space are unlike those on Earth, as their power is enhanced with stars and they can warp Cat units away and nullify damage with barriers. The Cats battle across the solar system and venture further into the galaxy, eventually arriving at "The Big Bang", where they fight the Cat God. After defeating him, he reveals he was the narrator throughout the saga and that, despite being an ancient deity, he is actually around twenty years old. After the cat and Alien forces come to a pseudo-ceasefire, the Cat God declares the cats should move onward to the Realm of Legends. However, an entity of chaos and destruction known as Filibuster Obstructa arrives from outside the galaxy, serving as the Cat Army's final test in their conquest of the Cosmos.
