CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: SAWMA Wildlife Excellence Award - closing date: 31 May 2026

Dear SAWMA members,

 

As most of you know SAWMA presents an annual award for excellence in Wildlife Management and/or Research.

 

The award recognises individual members of SAWMA within southern Africa who have made a significant contribution to wildlife management over a lifetime within the region. Contributions to wildlife management in southern Africa include contributions through advocacy, teaching, research, applied wildlife management, or a combination of these fields.

We invite members to identify suitable candidates for this prestigious award and nominate them before the 31 May 2026 deadline. If you have someone in mind, please contact me to confirm whether they are SAWMA members.

 

Please use the attached nomination form and add a comprehensive motivation (not exceeding 2 pages) detailing the nominee’s main contributions to, and achievements in, wildlife management in southern Africa, as well as a CV of the nominee.
