Seeking Citizen Scientists: Have you witnessed elephant tree-felling?
Hello everybody!
My name is Ronan and I am a masters student currently working on a research project about elephant tree felling techniques and behaviour. As these are relatively rarely witnessed events it is hard to accurately gain abundant information to do statistical analysis about their dynamics.
If you have observed an elephant pushing over a tree, you have in your memory a very rare and valuable piece of data! It would be a shame not to put it to some use! You can do so by spending just 10 minutes filling out a witness survey on the incident. This information can potentially help in developing new methods to protect trees against elephant damage and mortality in the future.
Also if you know anyone else that might have seen an elephant pushing down a tree perhaps you could pass this onto them.
