FW: Draft Norms and Standards for OECMs for circulation

Good morning SAWMA community,

 

Please find attached the draft Norms and Standards for the recognition of Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs) for public comment for circulation to our SAWMA members. These Norms and Standards are particularly relevant to private game reserves and ranches, and it is therefore important that stakeholders in this sector participate actively in the consultation process.

 

When submitting comments, it is recommended that these be presented in a table format, clearly indicating: (i) the specific section where revision is required; (ii) the concerns associated with that section, including reasons where provisions may be impractical; and (iii) concrete recommendations on how the section could be improved.
