Dear SAWMA community,

Applications for the 2026 Jennifer Ward Oppenheimer (JWO) Research Grant are now open, inviting early-career African scientists to submit research proposals that advance biodiversity and conservation on the continent. Attached is the official press release in multiple African Union (AU) languages (Swahili, English, Portuguese, French, and Arabic) to ensure it reaches a diverse audience across the continent.

The applications close on 1 May 2026.
