Abiotic drivers in conservation: The evolution of fire and freshwater management approaches in Kruger National Park.

Both fire and water are critical abiotic factors which influence savanna ecosystems like Kruger National Park. They influence how the savanna looks (structure) and how it functions (health). For many decades, these abiotic factors have been intensely managed based on many years of scientific research which guided decision-making by Park Management. This webinar will entail a brief overview as to how and why Kruger’s fire policy and freshwater management approaches have changed over time, and the role scientific research has played.
