Support Staff Response | Dear valued customer We have completed your website migration!
We want to give you the opportunity to test the migrated site to ensure it is functioning properly before making the site live. You must update DNS to make the migrated site live (instructions below).
Previewing the site: You can test the site out by editing your local hosts file. Add the following entry to your hosts file and save your changes:
23.229.187.40 new.arrowak.net
Host file paths for popular operating systems:
- Mac: /private/etc/hosts
- Windows 7/8/10/Vista/XP/etc: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Making the site live: Once you are ready to make the migrated site LIVE, you will need to remove the entry from your hosts file and point the DNS to your destination server. The easiest method is to update the A record IP address for your domain.
IP Address: 23.229.187.40
WARNING: If you do not update DNS and continue to make changes to your website, the changes will not carry over to your new hosting.
Any DNS changes you make can take up to 48 hours to reflect on the Internet. Be sure to remove the entry from your hosts file after you update DNS.
Due to the way that WordPress works, we have placed the following entry into your wp-config.php file for previewing purposes:
'/** CloudTech (Remove These Lines) **/' define('WP_HOME','http://new.arrowak.net') define('WP_SITEURL','http://new.arrowak.net')
Please remove this entry from the wp-config.php file when you are finalizing the site move to ensure that visitors are viewing the correct site. If your site was migrated from another hosting plan with us, you will need to remove the domain from the old hosting plan before you can update the name on the new hosting plan.
Please contact us right away if you notice any issues with this migration. We will be unable to troubleshoot or provide assistance with issues that arise after 14 days from the migration completion date.
