Re: Minutes of meeting - Save Chinnappanahalli lake
Dear All,
There had been two developments subsequent to our previous mail on the
Chinnappanahalli lake development.
Meeting with the AECS Layout association:
1. The key members of the association met with some residents of Purva
and Rohan
2. This association represents the original 1600 house of the Aircraft
Employee's Co-operative Society (AECS)
3. The original society was built along with two STPs of adequate
capacity, but
now the effluent outlets of many layouts/ apartments of the adjacent
areas have
been connected to these two STPs. As a result, apart from groundwater
issue AECS
members are keen to have an broad solution to the sewage problem for
the whole
area
Discussion with the association and Dr Ananth ( EchoTech Engineering)
on the
feasibility of releasing STP treated water into the lake. The updates:
1. The current estimates will be rule of thumb. Dr Ananth suggested
that the
data be shared after appropriate meters are installed, and water flow
is
observed for some time. Hence the probable date for sharing the above
information with the "High Court Empowered Committee for sustainable
development of Bangalore" will be at least a month down the line
2. The association informed that no data is available on the rain
water
harvesting, Purva needs to be contacted for that
