Please Attend Moscow City Council Budget Hearing Monday, Aug 4, 7PM

The issue: Increasing Moscow City support for mass transit.

Your Action: Attend (you don’t need to speak) to show support for
increasing Transit in the Moscow Budget

The background: With the cutback of Wheatland Express service there
will be no Moscow or Pullman city loops on Wheatland beginning Fall
semester.

Moscow Valley Transit could help with connections to Wheatland. There
are three issues that need your support:

1. Schedules need to be better synchronized for transfers at St
Augustine’s/SUB. (The bus pullout is being enlarged to hold more
busses. Construction will begin shortly.)

2. Moscow Valley Transit would need to start earlier and run later to
provide connections to WSU employees on the to-work (7:50 arrival) and
from-work (5:10 depart) runs. These additional runs will need
additional matching funds.

3. Moscow Valley Transit runs near capacity during the winter months.
Efficient coordination with Wheatland Express could put MVT over its
capacity. Increasing capacity will require bigger busses or more
busses and drivers, again requiring more support to
