Dear Mr Prabhu,In fact, we should call him to visit Arakere lake where sewage has been flowing unhindered in spite of complaint to PCB on several occasion. The point was raised to him but not pushed as focus was not on individual lakes.Yesterday, we (some six of us) had planned to visit BDA office to get to know the status and what they are doing, but the chief engineer was on leave. He has given time for meeting on Monday afternoon. We will go and meet him. Subsequently, we plan to visit BWSSB office and demand from them as to what they are doing.Regards,ArbindOn Fri, Mar 11, 2016 at 10:33 AM, Arbind Gupta <arbind...@gmail.com> wrote:Dear Mr Prabhu,You can also join the next meeting and put forward these points In the meeting on Wed, the focus was on he getting to know what citizens want. He made a note of various points made by people and letter from OBL also is a documentation of what people want. People did raise points about why he is asking these things again when such points have already been raised with earlier chairman of PCB, Mr Vamanacharya. To be fair to him, he did seem sincere in understanding people's perspective, rather than give high sounding talks (he let people speak rather than he talking). He also promised to setup a mechanism for people to report issues / problems and agreed to visit some of the lakes with burning issues. He has promised to get back to people and have another meeting in a couple of months time.It is not a defense of him but let us watch and observe.Regards,ArbindOn Fri, Mar 11, 2016 at 10:21 AM, PANDURANGA PRABHU <bprp...@yahoo.co.in> wrote:--The enclosure is a letter demanding various actions required to be taken by Pollution Control Board which is constituted for these very purposes. Dear all,--Yesterday a meeting was called by PCB chairman Mr Laxman that was attended by about 60-70 lake activists and environmentalists. The purpose of the meeting was to understand what lake teams expect from PCB and what can they do. There were many suggestions given by people about what should be done, what they are not doing, what they claim to be doing (but not happening) etc. A list of such points and expectations was compiled by BIOME and consolidated by One Bengaluru for Lakes that had been discussed prior to the meeting. A copy of these demands were submitted to KSPCB chairman Mr Laxman during the meeting and attached herewith. He made a note of points raised during the meeting and seemed sincere in addressing them (I am not able to summarise as I could not follow his reply in Kannada). He promised to have regular consultation with lake activists and come out with specific plan to address many of the expectations from KSPCB. Let us see how things progress and what steps are taken by KSPCB for addressing the key demands raised by people.Regards,Arbind
