to Save WRVU!, wrvu-trainees, wrvu-...@list.vanderbilt.edu
Hey everyone,

We will be out on the Wall in front of Sarratt this Saturday from 11am
until 3pm in order to let the parents of students know about the
potential sale of WRVU. We will be collecting signatures for the
petition as well as handing out Save WRVU flyers. Our main goal is to
let parents know that an organization as fantastic as WRVU exists, but
may soon be gone. We will encourage them to contact VSC and the
University to voice their displeasure, and also to come down and tour
WRVU to see the amazing things we're doing.

We need to be calm, peaceful, and make our point clearly. We cannot
stop people or impede the flow of traffic too much on the wall, and we
are also not allowed to attempt to get signatures in the cafeteria.
We need to bring our own table (Scott, do you still have the one you
bought?), and we should have a number of signs expressing our views
for the people on the wall to hold.

We need as many volunteers as we can get for the event, and we will be
giving 1 CD credit for an hour of volunteering. You'll need to sign a
sheet inside the station in order to get your credit. If there isn't
enough space on the wall, we have many other things that volunteers
can be doing, so please come if you can make it, and let me know.

We also wanted to ask all of the DJs from 11am-2pm to do their shows
inside Studio C so that the parents can see just how cool this all is.
Ron, you can do your show at 2pm in there as well, but we all
understand that oftentimes your show will not work in that small
space. If you are the DJ of The Future of Jazz, Americana the
Beautiful, or Fresh Bloom, then please contact Emily Foster at
wrv...@gmail.com to set up a time to train on working the new studio.
It's quite easy, so training will not take more than a few minutes.
Emily will be hosting Studio C training for more people in the near
future, and someone will be available to show you how to run a show
from in there this Saturday as well. We'd like to have more presence
in Sarratt, so we encourage everyone to train in Studio C and do a few
shows from in there.

In case you can't make it this weekend, we will also be doing
something on the day of homecoming (October 23rd), but we're waiting
for the football game time to be released before scheduling anything.

Thanks, and I'll see you all on Saturday,

Mikil
