Hi Nuri,

Harris and Lockheed Martin did not say that they support dean's
proposal, they only said that they will continue to hire UF students.
You can counter back by getting comments from emplyees and CISE alumni
at Harris and Lockheed Martin. They will be more truthful. I took a quick
look at the comments from the SaveUFCISE, and there are already two:
Bruce Sieck from Harris and Darren Law from Lockheed Martin.
Hope the information hepls.
Thanks.

Subject: Budget Process Update

Dear Colleagues,
As part of our ongoing budget process, yesterday I continued to reach out
to faculty and employers to discuss our proposal for the restructuring of
CISE.  In particular I had very productive discussions with two
significant employers of the computer engineering graduates of our
college.  Students should be reassured to know that Harris Corp. remains
very supportive of our program, believes in our curriculum, and will
continue to hire our graduates.  Similarly, Lockheed Martin assured me
that they have no intent to change their recruiting strategy for our
students.  In fact, both companies have pledged their support to help us
recruit more students to computer related degree programs at UF this fall.
I will continue over the coming days to communicate with all of the
college's stakeholders and look forward to productive dialog.
Best regards,
Cammy
