Anyone have examples of this aside from Forrest Gump. I am working on
a story which is a combination of this and coming of age. Is it
acceptable to mix these genres?

Hi.

What do you mean by "coming of age"?

Mixing of genres are fine with sub-plots, but the main-plot must be
very clear, and to avoid a flawed story line. Just my $0.02... :)

To me the "Golden Fleece" and "Fool's Triumphant" seems kind of
similar... But I guess we'll have to choose one, and keep the other on
a "lower level" of the story.
