Setting up a new trust when a trust has already been in existence for
374 years sounds like a real beginner's blunder. The rest needs to be
examined as far as possible. One of our local grammar schools has
recently formed a trust to hold the assets that were previously held
by the LEA. Parents at the school were excluded from standing as
trustees and given a load of spin about why the change was happening.
There is more to these trusts than meets the eye: They are a
necessary part of converting to an academy. The assets of St.B's are
already held in trust by the Diocese of Northampton, as I understand
the position.
I think I need to FOI the governors' minutes at Calday Grange.

Note the date. Looks as if FOIing the minutes would be a battle.

Setting up a second trust to hold the same assets may be a beginner's
blunder but to do it without the knowledge of the governing body seems
incredible. So who set it up, why and with what intent?
