Meanwhile, Langley Grammar school became a selective academy on 1
April, joining Slough Grammar school which did so on 1 January. That
leaves only St Bernard's and Herschel Grammar under the auspices of
the LEA.

announced that it has effectively dropped its opposition to its
schools becoming academies - see
