to Save Soaring At Hemet Today
The Riverside Board of Supervisors this week after a closed door
executive session reviewing the FAA decision with their counsel
announced "with regards to OCSA the BoS agreed unanamiously not to
appeal the FAA decision". Bland, no spin.
Hopefully this was turning point in our legal battle to keep soaring
at HMT. We will now need to see if the County is truely committed to
acting in good faith in face to face negociations.
This will remain a slow bureaucratic process but there is now definite
light at the end of the tunnel. Under the radar, lots of paper is
flying back, forth, and around re the options to return the field to
use. To move too quickly may result in a bandaide solution that does
not have long-term viability.
Enjoy your summer wherever/however, my best expectation is that HMT
reopens in the Fall of this year.
If we need your help, you know I'm not shy to ask.
