to Save Soaring At Hemet Today
Several emails have been recieved wondering why the SSHT site is so
"quiet" and please excuse me for not posting more. The County has
answered our complaint and we are preparing to respond to their
answer. While these position papers are being drawn up and exchanged
it behooves us to stay focused on the legal game. There are a limited
number of filings each side is allowed so we need to get them right.
In this regards, Chris continues to do the heavy lifting. So bear
with us for about another month.

In other news...

AOPA's Bill Dunn will be speaking at the SSA Convention regarding
saving gliderports. The concept of soaring being the "canary in the
coalmine" appears to be resonating within AOPA and it's great to see
AOPA and the SSA working together better than ever. You should know
Bill made a special trip out to visit Chris and myself at Hemet before
throwing AOPA's weight behind our effort.

Meanwhile closer to home, our attorney, Ron Cozad has argued and
won a very interesting case at the California Court of Appeals. Ron
continues to help us immensely. You can read about his recent success
at:

Finally, a BIG THANKS to all that have contributed to our legal
defense fund. My last appeal appears to have worked. We are recieving
checks from all around the USA. For the vast number of glider pilots
who have not contributed, please note in many ways, our fight is your
fight. Do consider sending a check to OCSA before the end of the year.

So as mentioned in the first paragraph above, the SSHT website will
be quiet until mid-January. Much is happening behind the scenes. We
continue to believe we are on the correct course and hope for the
best.

Happy Holidays,

Larry T
