Greetings to everyone planning to canvass with us on Sunday 3/20.

I want to advise everyone to bring along their rain gear and perhaps a
change of clothing just in case it does rains.

I've been tracking a weather system over the Pacific for several days
and there is a possibility that we will have some rain on Sunday. The
system has been speeding up and slowing down at various stages in its
development, so it might also not come until well after we're
finished, pass through before we begin or dive south and miss us
completely. (I'm a meteorologist, so you wouldn't expect anything
other than a 50/50 type of statement from me would you?) The important
thing is there is a chance that the weather will be good, but we want
everyone to be as comfortable as possible even if it's not. Thus I
advise that everyone bring rain gear in order to be prepared if it
does rain and to have a change of clothes in case anyone gets a little
damp so that you can change when we return to Lyon-Martin. Your
comfort is very important to us as a group and to me personally. If it
does happen to get wet out there on Sunday, we can always briefly duck
into cafes until it subsides while hitting up the other patrons and
owners for donations.

The bottom line is that I don't want the chance of rain to dissuade
anyone from participating. Last time we canvassed it was raining and
we still brought in over $4,000! We are in the far turn of our race
against the 3/31 deadline and we aren't going to let a little rain
prevent us from saving our health care, are we? Saving this clinic is
too important to let the possibility or even the actuality of some
rain get in the way.

I will close with CHICKEN SOUP FOR ALL if it does happen to rain but
be easy on the weatherperson. They are known to have thin skin.
I'll look forward to seeing you all on Sunday
Nikki
