4/6 Fundraising Group Notes and Dining Event Update

Hi All,

Sorry I didn't send these earlier! Below are my notes from our fundraising group meeting on 4/6.

Our next meeting will be 4/20 at 5:30 pm.

Update about our dining event: So it turns out that SF Women Against Rape is doing their restaurant fundraiser in May. I don't think it'd be kosher to do essentially the same event during the same timeframe. Christine and I chatted about pushing it back to June or July but wanted to ask the group's thoughts about our timeframe. What do you all think?

Longer-Term Planning and Fundraising Strategy

-Weekend 4 hour meeting with outside facilitator/trainer (or possibly Manish)

-Ideas to get out of this: Donor Poll, Major Event, Huge Gift Amount Donors, 

-10am-2pm, Sunday 4/24 or Sunday 5/7

-Planning and training

-Articulate more goals of this?

-Space (million fishes, UCSF)

Dining Event Update

-Cheryl has been in charge, putting her participation on hold, due to medical issues.

-Mitchel and Christine will lead with Cheryl limited.

-Soonest any restaurants have expressed interest is in May, do small test version.

-Tuesdays, 

-Pi, Front Porch, lined up

-Other possibilities: Tangerine, Millennium, Farm:Table, Truck Guy, Bar Tartine, Corner, Gracias Madre (Roni), 

Clinic Updates

-Where to give donor information during this time, is there a database being updated? Give to Elizabeth, Kara will do it possibly.

-Morgan leaving effective 4/14

-All-staff meeting last Thursday, visioning of clinic and services, etc

-Looking at payer mix: have increased insured percentage, no longer seeing out-of-count uninsured, all patients engaged in care will be served, 

-Who do we serve? Who do we see?

Other Events

-Concert, 4/16, 8pm, Christine

-Doing some posturing on Saturday at 1ish in the afternoon

-Alternative folky style

-Do we want someone to make a pitch, pass the bucket, table

-Need volunteers: Pike, 

-Speakeasy

-Annaconda, has venue of 100 people max

-Have access to a lot of free booze, and entertainers

-Ticket price?

-At Kink? Part of Kink pride party?

-Speakeasy? Tack on to their pride party?

-Thinking about having events not at bars/21+ events and health related space

-Pride Planning, at Dyke/Trans March

to add to the ambitious agenda, i want to know who we can ask for receipts for donations like those to the ebay site. i need to make a couple out before posting to the auction.
