Hi All!

Find below my brief notes from our meeting. Notice some action items, I will try and include these in all our minutes from now on.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday May 4. 

There will be a break-out meeting next Wednesday, April 27, to discuss planning our as to be determined event.

Action Items

-Pitch idea for September "large one-day unifying event" to larger group

-Dining Event for June

-Christine and Mitchel confirm with restaurants

-Start working on Publicity

-Manish will follow up with potential facilitators and LM leadership for participation in strategy/planning session

-Nikki will check in with Christine about El Rio Dance Church commitment and will report back

-Pending this convo Mitchel will check in with potential volunteers

FirstGiving 

-Signed-up

-Best to do a one-event type campaign

-Tying it to an event will likely pay-off with significantly more $$$-raised

-Key organizers (Corey, and?), Coaches (all of us, to organize a team of people and organize/motivate them to meet goals)

-Some kind of walk-a-thon, dance-a-thon, 

-Do an event in mid-September

-Reach out to trans march / dyke march / SF WAR for advice/planning

Dining Event

-Add Brenda's to potential list, Kara has connection

Planning and Strategy Training

-Manish f/u with potential facilitators

-Let's talk about fundraising for potentially paying trainer

-May 7 or May 15

-For SLM folks and organizational leadership

Events

-Comedy thing coming up

-El Rio has offered monthly spot at Dance Church as benefit for organization. 

-What actual work does this need? Can we commit to it?

-Could we ask for additional volunteers to do this?

-Mitchel will ask potential volunteers?

Staff Update

-Kara will work with us as LM contractor

-Sending out follow-up appeal to everyone who has given since January 25

-Not sure about status of funding from city

-Still extremely short staffed.

-Board meeting next week

-Movement Strategy Center willing to help with online messaging

-Alicia Kester willing to help organize an event
