Hi all,
As many of you have heard, the Planning Department is in the midst of a site study on the Balboa Reservoir, across from the City College main campus. Specifically, the mayor has prioritized the Public Utilities Commission-owned site (currently a 17 acre overflow parking lot below the 15 acre parking lot) for affordable housing, which would be excellent if it could be used for teachers/staff and students at City College. But now the Planning Department is saying they are considering turning this publicly-owned land into market rate housing--meaning $4,000 (or higher) for a two-bedroom apartment. If you'd like to see this site prioritized for open space or affordable housing for the public good, please come to the next meeting:
Tuesday, May 5th
6-8pm

Hope to see you there!
