Isit possible to select a wifi network from the available networks ? currently, the Wifi Toggle workflow is showing the selected network and the IP address as shown in the screenshot of the workflow.

There is some issues with implementing this, first there is a 3 seconds delay to scan for networks. Second there need to be a way for requesting a password for the network. I'm still looking into how this could be implemented best...

Hmm this sounds weird, the workflow writes "(logged in)" on users who are listed by the "who" command. I made a small mistake so it will also match a username that is a subset of another username that is logged in... But otherwise it should reliable identify logged in users...

Thanks for the updated workflows from 1.x! I'm very much a coding noob and I liked how in the previous workflow from 1.x that all i had to do was type "wifi" and hit enter and it would just turn on or off the wifi connection. Now I have extra clicks to enter the toggle and select on/off or the IPv4/6 selections. Not a huge deal, but would love to know how I could change the script so it just turns on/off the wifi. Thanks!

One of the downloads was for setting up wifi comms but i do not know how to implement this feature . Looking for some advice on how to set up this scanned for wireless communication. I am using windows 10. The USB connection works fine but my table is small and want to place the scanner further away and also be able to use it with more than one computer.

If you have the network adaptor, please click HERE and download/install the wireless setup tool from the Canon website. When the page opens, click the software and drivers option and scroll down to access the file.

i did download the setup tool. it comes with no installation instructions or how to use it. nevertheless i managed to download and run it. when it ran it asked me to choose a scanner model. mine was not on the list , its tce c230. when i choseone of the listed ones it showed me how to prepare the canner for wifi connection usin on touch but my ontouch does not have such a tab. I am guessing this download does not cover my scanner or my scanner has no wifi connection feature but thank you for taking the time to answer my request.

Hi... Hope I have a very easy question... I have a new Dell i7 Win 10 laptop and I need to connect a USB scanner to it. Normally, the scanner would use a USB 2.0 cable to make the connection, but I don't want to use a cable. (The scanner has its own power supply, and does not draw its power off the USB connection...) The scanner is not equipped to handle wireless... How do I get the computer and scanner to talk with each other using wireless? I do have wireless wifi setup in the house if that helps. The computer and scanner are about 10 feet apart, and the computer and scanner will be dedicated to each other -- no need for multiple computers to access the scanner. TIA... Alan

Respectfully, "impossible" is inaccurate... USB is just a transfer protocol (pretty simple too...) As I mentioned, I do have a wifi network... I just checked, and my first floor machine easily talks with one of my second floor machines, including a scanner. All I need to do is hook up my new scanner into one of my network machines (I think I'll buy a dedicated machine), and wifi and Windows will take care of the rest... Easy breezy...

I don't know if I need a router or not... I don't see why USB wireless can't work with scanners... In fact, I have a wireless scanner/printer/fax that works with both USB or wireless, and that works fine as a wireless USB scanner. Beyond that, wireless has been around since 2010 (look up WUSB). Iogear used to make a standard wireless dongle, but they no longer make it... There must be some manufacturer out there that makes such a thing...

USB adapters depend on drivers and things. These need an operating system. Sadly, your scanner cannot run an operating system. Netgear's adapters won't even work on Unix systems, and only some will connect with Macs.

It is a rule of thumb around here, that people who turn up claiming IT expertise are generally the least reliable when it comes to understanding problems and solutions. They rarely work in the area, and allow their knowledge of something completely different to get in the way.

The unit won't stay connected to wifi. I have had it on two different wifi systems and computers--work wifi and an iMac, and my current setup at home with a Dell pc. I have the same problems regardless of what computer/wifi combo I use. The wireless routers are not the problem. All other wifi-enabled devices work just fine with the wireless routers at home and at work.

The only way of addressing the connectivity that has worked so far is to uninstall the OfficeJet drivers from my computer, then re-download them from the HP website. Even then, it only solves the wifi connectivity issue for a short time before the printer drops the wifi again.

Take today for example. I uninstalled and redownloaded the device driver software from the HP website. I was then able to scan 12 pages of documents to my computer. I came back later to scan another document, and the printer had already become disconnected from the wifi.

But here's the funny thing. I can still email documents to the printer email address and the printer will receive and print them. So the printer HAS to be at least partially connected to the wifi in my home.

I understand that you're unable to scan to your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Printer. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

If the printer is capable of printing off an email that you sent using eprint, there is nothing wrong with the printer's wireless radio. This would indicate that the printer is on the network and has internet access.

Please download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will likely diagnose and resolve the issue you are experiencing.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor (did it print or scan, any error messages)?

If the issue persists, you might be experiencing an IP address conflict. It is a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address, outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers DHCP default range is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

I would agree with everything above. I would like to add that you claim that it is a wifi issue compared to an HP issue. Why is it that I can have two computers and 3 phones connected to my wifi and the printer doesn't work?

I am coding a wifi scanner to scan available networks and connect to them. My code compiles without an issue and the app runs, BUT the scanned results do not show in the list view. Please help. Even the button click which triggers a toast runs as expected.

Small size and handy construction provide convenient operation of the Mobile phones and WiFi finder. In favorable conditions (no jamming signals and non-standard housing) the range of the device is even 50 meters which allows to locate the surveillance easily, even in large area rooms (haals, conference halls, offices). Each of the detected activity has a date, time, transmission length and graphic interpretation marking. The detector allows to save up to 4000 trasnsmissions with an information package. The further analysis and data archiving is enabled by a possibility of transferring it to the hard drive by USB connection.

Apart from component detecting 2G, 3G or 4G data transmissions, the mobile phones detector was equipped in an additional module which uses data transmission in 2400 MHz band, typical for WiFi, Bluetooth and most of wireless analog cameras communication. Apart from detecting and possibility of tracking the surveillance, the device shows which type of transmission was detected.

The Xfinity hotspot map allows you to search for hotspot locations by address or use the interactive map to find nearby hotspots. This map is also available in the WiFi tab of the Xfinity app for Xfinity Internet subscribers.

If you're an iPhone user, your phone will automatically connect to Xfinity WiFi hotspots right out of the box. To connect to the unsecure, public xfinitywifi network, it just takes one click to access hotspots within range.
