Before you update to V8.4, please review the following:
The new version does not support access control devices of first generation protocol.
1. If you need to continue using them, do not update to the new version.
2. If an access control device of first generation protocol was already added, it will be automatically deleted after update.
you probably have to enable the IP camera ports. Go to the menu, then Camera, then CAM TYPE, then on the right column, look for the IP box, check it and restart the DVR, you should then be able to see the camera registration option to add ONVIF cameras
Did you use XVR5x08 or HCVR5x08? you might have uploaded the wrong firmware, which would be weird becase the system usually returns an error if it's the wrong firmware. You might need to "telnet" into the unit to upload the correct firmware. Others here can help you with that since I don't know how to do it.
I bought my equipment from Security Camera King, model number TRIDVR-EL8ME4 which I believe is Dahua equipment. A technician from SCK gave me a link to most recent firmware which is almost identical to the one you posted, but not exactly. Here is the file:
The name of these two files differ with the letters 'PN' being reversed to 'NP'. I am waiting to flash the firmware until I have made certain that I will not brick my DVR. Can you offer any explanation as to why they're different?
The N and P on Dahua firmwares usually relaters to PAL and NTSC versions. But I really doubt there are any differences, since our units are all PAL but can easily be switched to NTSC from the system menu. When using CVI/TVI/AHD cameras, and VGA/HDMI output, I guess you just don't care about that any more.
Tengo un dvr dahua modelo dh-dvr2116h-v2, esta semana empez a reiniciarse cada cierto tiempo y dejar de reconocer el disco duro, quisiera saber si se puede reparar con una actualizacin de firmaware y si es tiguo as tal vez alguien tenga el archivo. Saludos
DAHUA DHI-XVR5104HS-S2 DVR backup file is posted here in this post for the support of technicians to recover or repair DVR/NVR. In most of the cases video recorder is stuck on the startup or logo screen and does not completely boot due to software malfunctioning or bios problems and in some other cases, DVR/NVR may not power on or have no display but only on standby/red ligh. In such cases, there may be a software issue or hardware issue. So, first of all, if the video recorder is on standby/red light only then check the core voltage and ensure that all measurements are perfect and the main system IC is also normal then load the backup file.
DAHUA DHI-XVR5104HS-S2 DVR backup is saved from working DVR/NVR. Be careful when writing backup files. Make sure that the main board or chassis are same as you require and if possible verify the main processor. You should first keep the backup of old software and then write another. Always check the software backup size and flash memory size which will be the same in size. DVR/NVR channel capacity may be different in some cases but the main board and processor are the same. In these cases, you can write a backup file if there is no other option.
Note: The following firmware is a backup file and can be written by a programming tool or can be loaded by a loader tool.
