How to Download HTTrack Website Copier for Offline Browsing

Have you ever wanted to browse a website offline, without an internet connection? Maybe you want to save a copy of your favorite blog, or access some useful information when you are traveling. Or maybe you want to backup a website before it goes down or changes. Whatever your reason, there is a free and easy way to download a website to your computer: HTTrack Website Copier.

HTTrack Website Copier is a free and open source software that allows you to download a website from the internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure, so that you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online.

Downloading HTTrack Website Copier

The first step is to download HTTrack Website Copier from its official website: https://www.httrack.com/. Depending on your operating system, you can choose from different versions and formats of the software.

Windows

If you are using Windows (from Windows 2000 to Windows 10 and above), you can download the installer version or the zip file version of HTTrack. The installer version will guide you through the installation process and create a shortcut on your desktop or start menu. The zip file version does not require installation and can be run from any folder or USB key.

To download the installer version, click on the Download Installer button under the Windows section on the download page. To download the zip file version, click on the Download Zip button under the same section. You can also choose between 32-bit or 64-bit versions depending on your system architecture.

Linux/OSX/BSD/Unix

If you are using Linux, Mac OS X, BSD, or Unix, you can download the source code version of HTTrack and compile it yourself. Alternatively, you can use one of the pre-packaged versions available for some distributions and platforms.

To download the source code version, click on the httrack-3.49.2.tar.gz file under the Linux/OSX/BSD/Unix sources section on the download page. To compile it yourself, follow the instructions in the README file included in the archive.

To download a pre-packaged version, check if your distribution or platform has one available on its official repositories or websites. For example, Debian and Ubuntu users can install HTTrack using the command apt-get install webhttrack. Fedora users can use yum install httrack. Mac OS X users can use MacPorts or Homebrew to install HTTrack.

Android

If you are using Android (>= 2.2), you can download HTTrack from Google Play Store. Just search for HTTrack or go to this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.httrack.android. Then click on the Install button and follow the instructions on your device.
