How to tell which version of camera raw I have? The only Google search I found answering this question refers to is 2 years old and seems to no longer apply. There is no File, Edit etc. menu on the new version of Camera Raw with (Photoshop/Bridge CS6). I do use Adobe Application Manager to do my updates telling me if a new version exists or not, nevertheless I would like to know.
Thanks for your help Yammer but no, that doesn't work. That is what I saw, as mentined, on a Google search and feel this is probably for older versions. In my CS6 of Photoshop/Bridge ver. 7.4 of Camera Raw the F key does give me full screen but absolutely nothing happens to the GUI--all looks 100% exactly the same.
ssprenget. thanks to you as well, and yes, that did work. I was not aware that camera raw was a plug-in. I thought it was software like Bridge (then again, a lot of plug-ins are like software, aren't they?)
The F key works as described for me in CS6-ACR7.4 with ACR as the window with focus. The same function is available using the double-arrow-window icon at the right of the Preview checkbox near the top right of the preview area.
Holly molly! the version is there? I had thought that the info would show up on full screen mode seeing that there is more screen real estate instead the opposite is true. Also, on the 2 videos I did see where this info was given the version was spot center on the top. In my case it's on the extreme left hence my not having noticed it. My screen is 1920 X 1080 BTW.
Ah wait. I decided to go a little further. I noticed that my camera model will indeed show (at the bottom) but only for NEF and DNG files. If the image is psd, tiff or jpg. then it won't (Hmm! I wonder why that is?)
With Adobe Camera Raw, you can enhance raw images from many different cameras and import the images into various Adobe applications. Supported applications include Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Lightroom, Photoshop Elements, After Effects, and Bridge. The tables below list all cameras that the Camera Raw plug-in (versions 1.0 through 15.4) supports.
You can get the latest camera support for older versions of our software through the free Adobe DNG Converter. For more details and troubleshooting camera support, see Photoshop or Lightroom doesn't support my camera.
Camera Raw does not support compressed MOS & IIQ files from Leaf cameras. If you cannot open your MOS or IIQ files in Camera Raw, try using a camera proprietary converter to remove the file compression. Proprietary converters include Leaf Raw Converter and Phase One Capture One.
Camera Raw does not support compressed MOS & IIQ files from Mamiya cameras. If you cannot open your MOS or IIQ files in Camera Raw, try using a camera proprietary converter to remove the file compression. Proprietary converters include Leaf Raw Converter and Phase One Capture One.
(**) Support for Nikon Z 8 Pixel Shift images is currently available only in Camera Raw 16.1.1. Support in Lightroom products will be added in a future release. In the meantime, Z 8 Pixel Shift images can be converted to DNG in Camera Raw 16.1.1 or exported to a non-raw format such as TIFF in Nikon NX Studio and imported into Lightroom.
** Sony Composite RAW images (AXR) are not currently supported. To work with these images in Camera Raw or Lightroom, first convert AXR files to a compatible format such as TIFF using Sony Imaging Edge Edit.
Morning Everyone !! Hey how do I find the software / firmware version on my new Powershot ELPH 360 HS camera I got about a month ago . Just wondering whether this camera needs an upgrade to 1.1.0 or not. This should be easy to find but the documentation is alot to be desired .Thanks in advance ...
Hi, this may be a really dumb question - and if so I apologise in advance. I have a few Canon cameras - EOS60D, 90D and an R7, that I want to control with the EOS Utility software. Each camera seems to need its own version of the EOS Utility software to run - and is not recognised by the other versions - for example the 60D needs EOS Utility 2 (2.14.31) and the 90D & R7 EOS Utility3 (3.17.2) on the Mac. I know the cameras all have different functionalities, but it is a bit frustrating not being able to swap cameras without re-loading software and having slightly different interfaces for them.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this - am i missing something really basic or have Canon really made their software incompatible with legacy gear? Similarly, for some of my work I use an old laptop for image acquisition - the EOS Utility for the R7 is not available for Window 7 - new camera = new PC?
To answer your last question first......The world has moved past further development of software for Windows 7. Support for Windows 7 is of little-to-no concern anymore. Canon is just one of many who have done this.
AS to your first question.....Hardware makers.....computers, cameras, video games, etc........do have to move on as technology changes. Old hardware gets left in the dust eventually. Is Canon any worse than anyone else? I don't know. but that's the way things are nowadays.
Ironically one of the reasons I had moved back to use the Win 7 PC was that there is no software for the R7 compatible with the latest (6 month old) macOS Sonoma (14.3.1). After some playing about I found that the Ventura version still works on Somoma, so I can go back to my Mac again.
I have a couple of old programs from the Windows XP days that I don't want to lose the ability to use. Don't work on any newer Windows. I have some "obsolete" laptops and put XP on one just in case . There's no need for any security concern because this computer doesn't need to be Internet-connected.
Since EOS Utility2 is no longer being developed, its possible it will eventually cease to work with newer versions of MAC and Windows OS. While 2 versions of the EOS Utility can co-exist on a machine, an easier option might be a card reader, eliminating the need for 2 different software versions.
Hmmm - the reason to use the EOS utility software is that it allows the files to be named sensibly, rather than IMG_0xyz. A card reader is a pretty poor way of acquiring the data, for example, it doesn't allow preview, focus etc. What I seem to be picking up here is that my 'old' EOS-60, which is modified and characterized for forensic-type work will be considered obsolete because of the continual 'improvements' to the operating systems. And my new R7 won't connect to the current OS Sonoma as there is not a version of EOS Utility for that - yet.... Perhaps its time to diversify my camera stock and look elsewhere.
I have been using Octoprint for years. As soon as I installed the new 1.9.0 update, I started having all sorts of problems with my printer, the CR touch sensor doesn't work, Prints stopping, the screen acts weird. I have found that a few plugins seem to be the problem. I disabled a bunch of them. Specifically, the Classic Webcam plugin seems to be a major issue. A few other plugins seem to be at issue as well.
I have decided to do a fresh clean install of the newest 1.9.1 with the camera stack. I can't get the webcam to work. I am sure I am doing something wrong, but can't figure it out. The camera is fine, if I put the old SD Card in and boot up (and enable the classic webcam plugin) the webcam in Octoprint works fine (but printer is all screwy again.
This is critically important for us to understand what is going on in your OctoPrint instance. There's no way I can figure out your problem just from knowing the camera is not working, we need this info.
Hi Charlie, thanks and I will post this info. But before I take the time, can you tell me what OctoPrint's official stance is? Are version 1 and version 2 Raspberry Pi cameras officially supported with version 1.9.1?
I am having a similar issue.
@AndySharp It would be nice for you to take the time to provide all information asked, as it will help the developers. All versions of the Raspberry Pi Webcam should be supported, there is no documentation advising they would not be. It only takes 20 seconds to get the Sytem Bundle file.
Edit: Additional note. I am getting a timeout error when starting the WebcamD service. I noticed the red LED on the PiCam lights for 2 seconds on reboot then goes off, so I tried manually starting the service. I am using OctoPi, with Octoprint 1.9.1 on a Raspberry Pi 3B+
I decided to just buy a new Arducam. Problem solved. (I posted in several places and no one responded at all (yes, in this forum there was a response asking for the bundle. But I already decided to just move on.)
Update: I purchased the Arducam IMX708 fixed focus camera. It did work great with minimal fuss inside Octoprint 1.9.1. But since it was fixed focus, it was blurry. So, I returned it and got the Arducam IMX519 autofocus. The camera works fine inside OctoPi and on the RasPi 3B+. I can grab screen shots and catch a stream for X seconds. But I cannot get it to run inside OctoPrint 1.9.1. I have created a new post specifically addressing this, but as yet no answers.
Well, after getting a Ph.D. in webcams and the new camera stack in Octoprint 1.9.1, I fixed this issue. As mentioned, I upgraded my camera, but I wanted to see if I could get this one (v1.3) working. Did it!
