Dear BSNA and GBC Family,

Greetings and warm wishes for a very Happy Raksha Bandhan!

Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi) is a celebration of love and duty between brothers and sisters. Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit literally means "the tie of protection". On Raksha Bandhan sisters tie rakhi on her brother's wrist. This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong pledge to protect and take care of her under all circumstances.

The festival is celebrated on Poornima tithi of the Shravan month of the Hindu calendar. Raksha Bandhan is an ancient festival, and has many myths and historic legends linked to it.

Happy Raksha-Bandhan to you and your families!

Regards,

Om Sharma
