I just downloaded and extracted the Satscape program.  When I attempted to run the program, I received the following error:
Java Virtual Machine Loader: A Java Exception has Occurred.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get Satscape to work?

Not sure without more details. Make sure you have Java 6 or 7 installed, Java 5 won't work.
Does it say what kind of Exception? (NullPointer Exception?)

I only receive the error message.  There are not other details with the message.
Here is some other information:
OS: Windows XP
I have the latest Java installed on the computer.

Good morning Scott I do have the same error with the latest Java installed...Perhaps an incompatibility...
Have a great day

I compile it using Java 1.6 (java 6). Java 7 is still a little "beta" for my liking :-)
I may have to compile a version for Java 7 as well then. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure there's no problems having Java 6 and 7 installed on your PC.

Hi Steve,
At some point I'll condense the instructions down and put them back on the web site where they belong, sorry about that.

I found the thread but it would only open Satscape once via the command line $java -jar Satscape.jar. I will check the google group thread. I may have missed something. Steve

Got the same problem here using XP 32bit and tried java 7.4 and latest 7.6 with the same result...
Too bad - need a tracking program and I remember I used satscape many years ago (when it wasn't java :D) and loved it!

Have you tried using Java 6, Satscape was compiled for Java 6, not 7.

If all else fails, the non-java version is still available at http://satscape.info/satscape/ and still works (windows only) - scroll down to the bottom of the page.
