Hello,
I'm missing the Uplink and Downlink frequencies from the Amateur
satellites.
About 1 year ago the data was still available in Satscape.
I've installed Satscape on different 32 and 64bit computers....no
luck.
Update Keps didn't help.
Can you help me?

Thank you very much

Apologies Peter, bit of an oversight on my part, so that the data file is no longer downloaded automatically.

If you're on Windows 7, place it into the /Users/Peter/Satscape/ folder. You'll see other Satscape files in there too. I'll put a link to the file on the satscape web page too as a temporary measure, but at some point, I'll update Satscape to download automatically again.

go to www.amsat.org and download the Raw .TXT Keps data and configure satscape to use it.

I should point out, it's only the data for the satellites that doesn't currently work.
Keplerian elements still update just fine, they're pulled directly from Celestrak every 7 days.

did you select the right satellites to watch under the groups tab?

Hello Brad,

See the screenshots.
Normally at the place of the red cirkel , i see the up and downlink amateur radio frequencies. ( satscape.jpg)

This weekend i will install satscape on my home computer to be sure.
I did the installation on 3 office computers ( 2 64 bit and 1 32 bit ) maybe the data is blocked somehow by the firewall?

However...when i look at the ARIANE 40 R/B in the Satellie Group "visible" then i see some kind of information. ( satscape2.jpg)

I'll let you know if the problem persist on my homecomputer too.

make sure all your files are extracted into one directory.  Then run SatScape.Jar.  Do not rename this file. then when on settings update your keps and select the satellites you want.  Remember to run the .JAR file as it is.

Hello,

Just installed Satscape on a clean W7 32bits machine at my home.
I did unzip the downloaded file in a map called satscap, installed latest Java and started the .jar file.

Amateur group is active and the ISS, AO51 and AO27 are favorites. Still no data available for this satellite.
Am i the only one with this problem?
Everything els in the program seems to work perfect. Tabular data view works too.

Tomorrow i'll test satscape on a clean XP installed pc.

Hopefully he has it all in one folder/directory. That would include the
satscape.jar file. Mine works just fine and I am running it on 64 bit
Windows now.. I believe you need both versions of Java to make it work,
but it only runs in 32 bit java.

 Hello all,

I've just installed satscape on a XP professional installation in Virtualbox ( virtual machine).
First i installed Java as advised on the Satscape website.
Then i've downloaded the 32 bits version and unzipped it ( see attached picture 3 )
It automaticly creates a map called Satscape-win32.

When i start Satscape by clicking the JAR file, i see a notification that says "could not update Satellite Database, will try again another day".  ! (See picture 1 )
I think this is the Data i'm missing in Satscape??

On picture 2 you can see that there is no data available.

Due to various changes to my web site host, the database file containing uplink/download frequencies is no longer automatically downloaded. I shall re-instate this feature at some point, but for now, you can do it manually, if you download the database file, and (if you’re on windows 7) place it into your/User/YOURNAME/satscape/ folder along with the other files. Windows XP is /Documents and settings/YOURNAME/satscape/
