Hi Scott,

the Satscape bug is due to a problem with leap year 2012. All data is
shifted 1 day since 1st of March.

Thanks for your efforts!!!

Hi Chris, thanks, Wish I'd seen your forum post sooner :-)
New update is on the website, the speech announcements are also back
in this version along with a simpler install process.

I seem to have problems installing/running the new version with Win32
on xp pro.

See my post below/above.

( ps updated java, 3D and Nvidia, and DirectX) still no joy)...
Can I upload the error log here (17K) ??

Dusty.

Hi Dusty,
Once you've unzipped the file, you should have a folder, some DLL files and Satscape.jar
What happens when you double-click Satscape.jar ? does it just open another window full of files?
Can you right-click it and choose "open with..." and then choose "Java runtime" or "Java launcher"

Let me know what happens.

Thankyou Scott ( many many times), That's why you're the programmer
and I'm not !!

I was not extracting ALL the files correctly (settings), the lib
folder was not extracting, until you reminded me
of the structure I should have when the unzipping is/was finished.

Runs like it did before, except it now has sound,,, Sound is a bit
jerky but it will be
the system here, bit more playing with the sound system I think. I
have only started
playing with satellites and Satscape a few weeks back and I'm really
starting to like it
over the others I tried when it fell over. I'm still learning all
about the satellite stuff.

Many thanks again,

regards, Dusty.

Glad to hear its up and running! I've been looking into various ways to make the installation easy and work every time, it's a lot better now I think, but still needs to be just a double-click and you're done sort of process.

If you find the speech announcements annoying, you can turn it off in the settings. It's not the best speech I've heard, still looking for a nice human sounding one that is compatible with Java.

Cheers,
Scott
