As you all may have noticed you have received invitations to our new meetup group and slack group.
Meetup is a great way for us to inform you about upcoming presentations, ability to rsvp, and allow more people to find out about our user group. So now if someone asks you about the java user group you can direct them to our meetup.
Slack is a great way to communicate with your fellow jug members and if you have used slack before you know that it was designed for software developers in mind. It gives you the ability to talk about code more easily as it will keep the formatting for you, color highlighting, and will even allow you to create snippets in almost every language. It's also a great way to share files to each other whether its presentations, software, etc. It will also auto embed video and pictures if you paste the l links. There are many more cool features that I will leave for you to discover.
I hope everyone enjoys the new features, and I would recommend installing both the meetup app and slack app. And if anyone has any ideas, or wants to give a presentation, or know of anybody who does, don't hesitate to reach out to your JUG leadership.
P.S. The next scheduled meeting and topic has been posted on
meetup.
