Solutions Architect Needed at Leading Mobile Company - Digby in Austin!

Digby is the leading provider of mobile commerce and mobile in-store customer engagement designed specifically for retailers, delivering rich and unique retail branded mobile experiences for today’s consumer – anytime, anywhere. The Solutions Architect must have a background in OOP (3-4+ years in any OO language), but since Digby is primarily a Java shop experience in Java/J2EE is ideal. You will be responsible for project management, analysis, requirements gathering, design of technical specifications, coding, testing and support of new and existing software applications. A significant component of this position will be analyzing, supporting, maintaining, integration and enhancing existing applications. Must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the software development lifecycle and be a team player willing to perform routine and non-routine functions. Attention to detail, organization and excellent communication skills are a must. The Solutions Architect will report directly to the Director of Solutions Architecture and will work from the company headquarters in Austin, Texas.
Required Skills and Experience:
• 5+ years hands-on application development experience using Java, C# or other object oriented language
• Strong working knowledge of RDBMS systems (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
• Strong working knowledge of web technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience in the development and integration of Web Services
• Solid understanding of XML standards and best practices.
• Demonstrable skills in algorithm development and problem solving
• Excellent presentation and communications skills (verbal and written)
• BS or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
The ideal candidate will also have the following experience:
• Working knowledge of JBoss and related technologies/products
• 3+ years work experience in the Business-to-Business Software-as-a-Service/ASP business model
• 2+ years working in the mobile sector and/or developing applications for the iPhone or Android devices
• Fluency in Mandarin would be a significant plus but is not required.
• Experience working with Chinese Development and QA teams
• Has worked in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
• Ability to interpret customers’ requirements through active listening skills and the use of astute questioning to understand, anticipate and respond to their needs beyond expectations
