The Siddha secrets revealed by Sathguru Venkatarama Sidhdhar explain that this site is where Lord Yama himself performed penance to Lord Shiva (Yamaneswarar) and Mother Parvati (Yamaneswari) to refine his role as the Lord of Dharma

Prayers to Lord Yamaneswarar here (the Lord of Death worshipping Shiva) are traditionally believed to ward off imminent illness, relieve fear of death and help cast off Pitru & Mrithyu  Doshas through tharpanams in this temple of pushkarani on Amavasya days

Lighting Dheepams in Pournami in the Temple  and worshipping Ambal Sri Yamaneswari is believed to bring in Prosperity , grant peace and good health .

The Gandaki kund here near Ambal Sannidhi springs a holy water and is highly sacred as it is traditionally trusted to be the same sacred Gandaki River (of Nepal).

The Devotees observe Temple Tank (Pushkarani) tasting uniquely different at different points of the same tank.
