Subject: Rudrabhishekam in Basingstoke on Karthika Poornima (full Moon Day) - 14th Nov

Dear friends,

Karthika month is auspicious to both the devotees of Lord Shiva as well as Lord Vishnu. One of the most important Rituals of Karthika Month is Rudrabhisheka.

Rudrabhisheka is a ritual of worshipping Lord Shiva in his Rudra form, in which a Shivalinga is bathed in water which is continuously poured over it, with accompaniment of the chanting of vedic mantra called the Rudra Suktha. Abhisheka is the worshipping ritual of the God in which substances like Cow's milk, Ghee (clarified butter), curds (Yogurt), honey, finely ground sugar, sugar cane juice, coconut water, water, rice and similar items, which are believed to be dearer to Shiva are poured on the Shiva Linga.

This year Karthika Poornima comes on Somavar (Monday) 14th November and is even more auspicious, full moon day.

When done on Mondays it is even more special. Monday is the day of the moon, and the moon and mind are connected. Mantra, mind, moon, they are all connected on this day.

This year we have 3 priests coming to Basingstoke to perform Rudrabhishekam and each family/couple have opportunity to perform Abhishekam at your own Shivalinga.

Venue - Chute house, Church Street, Basingstoke RG21 7QT

When - Monday 14th Nov 6:00 pm till 9 pm

Registration - Limited spaces available, so registrations help us to make the necessary Shivalinga, Pooja and Prasadam arrangements. Registration link.

Cost: Priests are encouraging us to donate if you want to offer any Dakshina to Manavata Charity. Puja items/hall charges cost would be shared among us

Please don't miss this opportunity and register by Sunday 6th Nov if you want to perform this Rudrabhisheka with your family or single.

The registered people will get separate email with the list of items to bring.

Thanks,

Manavata Basingstoke
