www.es22.com/p : Minor Car Accident, Major Lessons in Life On 17th Sept, we had a small car accident when a BMTC bus hit us from behind. Lessons : 1. Create a big noise on the spot, so that the offending vehicle does not ignore you and speed away. Enough noise so that the passengers get down and go away ! 2. Call "100" which will finally ensure that the closest traffic cop visits the spot 3. Take the vehicles to the Police Station. Either compromise with on-the-spot exchange of money,( do "Not" take a verbal commitment alone) OR file an FIR 4. First step : The Traffic Police Station takes your FIR with your documents ( licence, RC,insurance) 5. Second step : You need to go to the RTO, have your vehicle examined by the inspector there, and bring the report back to the Police Station 6. Step 3 : You do not need to attend the court later. The offender will pay a fine there, and you will be intimated. It is not clear if you get the monies from the court thereafter 7. Biggest lesson : Once you go through the grind ( PS, RTO etc), the familiarity / perspective will help for later visits ( God forbid).
