Now TS Florence is expected to intensify over the week and touch shore sometime in the next 7 days. The actual path of Florence is still in disagreement, however a bulk of the computer models have it on a path that will threaten the Southeastern US Coastline by next Saturday.

Should weather patterns favor such an even, The Southern Territory SSB Net will move to Delta II status and monitor the net frequency of 7.265 Mhz for this event. Tentatively, we would like volunteers in the Southern Territory (and any others who wish to help) to monitor Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Longer may be necessary but that is the plan for now.

Volunteers should be prepared for poor band conditions, extended monitoring, and "Field Day"-like conditions. Volunteers in the affected areas of the lowlands in FL, SC, NC, and VA should be prepared to see shelter in advance of rising water and severe weather that follows the storm approach.

Please be safe. We welcome your help and participation. But we also want you to make your family and property a priority.

We will keep you advised should conditions change or situations warrant.
