Hello all,

I've been trying to get audio into Pure Data, but I am greeted with "ALSA input error (snd_pcm_open): Device or resource busy" every time I open Pure Data. I'm running CCRMA Satellite on a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B, using an ART USB Dual Pre audio interface. When I look in alsamixer, the USB interface is shown as the default audio device, but when I press F4 to look at the capture levels, it says the device does not have any capture controls. Oddly enough, arecord -l shows that the interface can capture audio, and is listed as an audio input device in Pure Data. I have set the USB speed to 1.1. The device is sending audio out just fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to why I may not be able to get audio in, or any suggestions for getting the audio input to work properly? If needed, I can provide more information. Thank you for your time.

James

Try turning off audio output.
In my experience it is quite tricky to get simultaneous in and output. Search duplex on this list.
Failing that you might need a different soundcard.
I had good luck with this one:
Got to be version 1 though - version 2 didn't work for me.

Also have you tried dwc_otg.speed=1

I think that feature does set the USB bus to run in 1.1-version mode.

I don't know about this particular interface. You might google around to verify if it really is supported in Linux at all.

Best,
Edgar
