saving subscription registration data, and what to return from payment processor

How should I register the data about a recurring payment? not the
actual individual payments, which aren't even made immediately but I
need to poll their servers to check the results, but the registration
of the recurring payment on the gateway's server?

I mean, the client selects a recurrent subscription as product, checks
out with the "credit card" processor, and I create the recurrent
charge on the gateway's server.

Payment success or failure I won't know for up to 30 minutes, if the
charge is for today, or until the trial is over. So what should I
return from my processor? I can't really register an approved payment
until the invoice is actually generated and it succeeds

so what should I do with this?
