Auth.net module returning only basic status messages

Not sure if this one is on the Auth.net module, but I have a store where every bad transaction is reported back to the user as an error code #2: Transaction failed, which is less than useful.

Doesn't matter if it's an expired card, insufficient funds, bad ccv, or what, it just always kicks back the "transaction failed" message.

Any ideas? Is this something to with my auth.net account?
