How difficult is it to decouple features from Satchmo?
For instance we DO NOT need.
* Payment gateways.
* Satchmo shipping options.
* Product variants.
* Automated thumbnails
* Tax Tables
* Discounting pricing/tiers.
* Flexible variant creation.
* Customer commenting and rating.
* Multiple languages. (our site is in English)
* Discount codes.
* PDF generation.
As well part of this question is if these items are decoupled from
Satchmo is is
gracefully possible to disable or exclude the required modules need to
run Satcmo.
Our needs are of a retail operation that distributes inventory already
to multiple
e-comm front ends. As well as doing mail order and cash register
sales, so
the classic e-comm model we often see is that the website-is-THE-
store,
is not our case.
At our business, all of the following will always be done client side
_accounting,
_discounting
_invoicing
_final shipping arrangements and calculations.
_image preparation
This is our 3rd time around the block with e-comm
apps and frameworks and the tightrope we encounter
is always balancing re-inventing the wheel compared
to wallowing through dozens of features we don't need.
If in fact Satchmo enables us to neatly decouple
features, then maybe we should check it out further.
Please advise?
