Auth.net module not giving useful error messages

I'm really not sure if this is an error on Auth.net's end, but my digging suggests it's not. The Auth module included in Satchmo does not return useful error messages for credit card transactions. Everything ends in "Transaction denied" messages, regardless of whether the card was declined, expired, ccv was wrong, or whatever.

In the logs, the Auth.net modules is getting back an error #2 for everything and anything.

Is there something wrong with my config or auth.net account? Do others have a similar problem?
