Hi all,

I just completed all the aspects of my first satchmo ecommerce, except paypal setting. At this stage, I intend to use paypal for which I already created an authenticated real paypal account with paypal.

My requirements are very simple. I want to enable my paypal account only with no additional strings  attached.

I set all the setup fields for paypal in admin/site settings as follows:
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.BUSINESS - ENTERED THE RIGHT EMAIL ADDRESS
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.BUSINESS_TEST - FALSE
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.CURRENCY_CODE - USD
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.LIVE - YES
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.POST_URL - https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.RETURN_ADDRESS - satchmo_checkout-success
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.POST_TEST_URL - fALSE
PAYMENT_PAYPAL.URL_BASE -  ^paypal/.

My question is:

  1. During my checkout, its not landing up on the Paypal site for capturing the payment details.
  2. In order to configure my Paypal Merchant Account through the Paypal website, after enabling the IPN option, what url I must give in order to activate the my notification URL. ??
  3. The base currency my site using is INR where the base currency paypal use is USD. Does this mean that I need to change the base currency of my products from INR to USD ?
Should any of you all know my immediate requirements, kindly come forward to help me. With so much of effort in the project, I would like to launch it and make it successful.

Thanking you in advance.
GG

keep in mind, I have worked this out recently.

questions:
1 - this could be a lot things, in my case payment details are completed on site and are transmitted to paypal via paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

2 - the url you have to provide takes the following shape http(s)://www.mydomain.com/checkout/paypal/ipn/ . keep in mind the BASE_URL of your shop, which defaults to '/'

3 - you can set PAYMENT_PAYPAL.CURRENCY_CODE  to INR (if that is part of the paypal three letter currency definition) and transactions will then occur in your currency (set it under admin/site_settings
