Payment Module updates? (PayPal and Authorize.net)

Wondering if anyone has done some work in either of these modules recently - in particular I'm seeing paypal failing to hit back the IPN request (no record in logs with debug turned on).

For authorize.net, has anyone done a payment module that uses the external page to handle the payment input and then do a callback (ala paypal's method)?
