Multi-currency support (Ticket #437)

Hi,

I was wondering what was the status of the multi-currency support?

It is the only feature that seems to be missing for a project I need
to do, so I am willing to sponsor the feature by either contributing
time or money to it.

I would like to know if somebody is currently working on it and what
are the plans to get it done, i.e., the list of changes to get a
proper support.

What I would be looking into:

- Supported currencies are defined in a configuration file.
- When specifying a price in the admin site, there is a possibility to
enter the price in all defined currencies.
- The currency is chosen by store visitor, pretty much like the
language can be switched.
- Ideally, the currency should be saved in the customer profile.
- Everywhere where an amount is displayed, the currency should be next
to it. Ex: "$105.33 USD" or "$107.5 CAD".

For me, automated currency conversion is not required and I wonder if
anybody really needs or want this.

That is a high level "functional" view of the requirements. Anybody
more familiar with the code base could draft a set of tasks/changesets
required to get this done?
