Any progress on developing Satchmo for appengine?

I read some posts from months ago, but haven't seen much since. Is
anyone actively working on this project, and if so has there been any
progress? I would be extremely interested in trying it.

I'm not aware of any major progress on this front. I know there's a bitbucket fork out there but not any activity I can see.

I made the fork on bitbucket, and got some progress done, but nothing worth checking in.  The real problem lies within the dependencies.  I think I translated one to GAE (I wanna say the plugin points but its been a while - started a new job)., but there were a lot more left to go.

 

The other thing to remember about GAE is you have to use Paypal / Google Checkout, otherwise it wouldn't be PCI compliant, so it limits a lot of people.

 

If anyone wants to talk about porting satchmo over to gae I'd be glad to partake in the conversation.

It's interesting what you say about PCI compliance. I'm a novice in this area, but I thought as long as you were to encrypt the credit card info in the datastore, you'd be compliant.
