November 27th was પરમકૃપાળુ દેવનો birthday. This year’s annual test on the birthday to measure our progress in the Marg was postponed due to the Ashram festivities.
Take the below test after watching the year 2023 test video. The video is about how some Senior Citizens (SCs) are spending their precious golden years.
Answer the following questions after watching the video. Here is 2023 test video link; video may take a few seconds to download:

1. Do you wish SCs had read that “ગીત અને ગાયન વિલાપ તુલ્ય જાણો. વિકારનો ઘટાડો કરજો. અધ્રુવ અને અશાશ્વત સંસારમાં અનેક પ્રકારનાં દુઃખ છે, હું એવી શું કરણી કરું કે જે કરણીથી કરી દુર્ગતિ પ્રતિ ન જાઉં”?
2. Do you wish SCs had read that “હે જીવ! હવે ભોગથી શાંત થા, શાંત. વિચાર તો ખરો કે એમાં કયું સુખ છે”?
3. Do you wish SCs had known that “જે આત્માઓ સંસારનાં માયિક સુખને કે અવદર્શનને શરણરૂપ માને તે અધોગતિ પામે”?
4. Do you wish SCs had read that “સર્વજ્ઞ મહાવીરનાં વચન સર્વ સ્થળે એ જ છે કે, સંસાર એકાંત અને અનંત શોકરૂપ તેમ જ દુઃખપ્રદ છે. અહો! ભવ્ય લોકો! એમાં મધુરી મોહિની ન આણતાં એથી નિવૃત્ત થાઓ! નિવૃત્ત થાઓ!!”?
5. Do you wish SCs had known that “આત્મહિત અતિ દુર્લભ છે એમ જાણી વિચારવાન પુરુષો અપ્રમત્તપણે તેની ઉપાસના કરે છે.”?
6. Instead of spending their last few precious golden years partying, do you wish SCs knew that “અહો લોકો! સંસારરૂપ સમુદ્ર અનંત અને અપાર છે. એનો પાર પામવા પુરુષાર્થનો ઉપયોગ કરો! ઉપયોગ કરો!”?
7. Do you wish SCs had read that “દેહ છૂટવાનો કાળ અનિયત હોવાથી વિચારવાન પુરુષો અપ્રમાદપણે પ્રથમથી જ તેનું મમત્વ નિવૃત્ત કરવાનો અવિરુદ્ધ ઉપાય સાધે છે; અને એ જ તમારે, અમારે, સૌએ લક્ષ રાખવા યોગ્ય છે”?
8. Do you wish SCs had read that “સર્વજ્ઞ જિનેશ્વર દેવે નિઃસ્પૃહતાથી બોધેલો ધર્મ ઉત્તમ શરણરૂપ જાણીને મન, વચન અને કાયાના પ્રભાવ વડે હે ચેતન! તેને તું આરાધ, આરાધ. તું કેવલ અનાથરૂપ છો તે સનાથ થઈશ. એના વિના ભવાટવીભ્રમણમાં તારી બાંય કોઈ સાહનાર નથી”?
9. Do you wish SCs had read that “હે જીવ! આ ક્લેશરૂપ સંસાર થકી, વિરામ પામ, વિરામ પામ; કાંઈક વિચાર, પ્રમાદ છોડી જાગૃત થા! જાગૃત થા!! નહીં તો રત્ન ચિંતામણિ જેવો આ મનુષ્યદેહ નિષ્ફળ જશે” ?
10. Do you wish SCs knew that “હે જીવ! હવે તારે સત્પુરુષની આજ્ઞા નિશ્ચય ઉપાસવા યોગ્ય છે” ?
11. Are you inspired by SCs to spend your remaining precious life partying and having “fun”?
That is the end of the test. Now, grade yourself by counting “Yes” and “No” answers. Count “I don’t know” and “May be” as wrong answers.
You pass the test if you answered “Yes” to all the questions except the last question. If not, you fail and it is time to go to the Ashram to attend the number of Shibirs equal to the number of your wrong answers. Attending online Shibir(s) does not count..
We must pay highest gratitude to પરમકૃપાળુ દેવ everyday. It is because of him we know how to spend our precious human life and most importantly we also have the grand Mokshmarg. We must always appreciate and remember his compassion.
