This book focuses on the individual and studies the experiential subjective blocks to the advancement of consciousness, which leads to progressive spiritual awareness and on to higher levels of consciousness preparatory to advanced states such as Enlightenment itself. By analyzing the various obstacles and levels to be transcended, certain principles that support spiritual evolution are self-revealing. It is, therefore a practical manual rather than a comprehensive analysis.
I find this list important, as I do not want to be duped (smile) on my spiritual path by any book or teacher not yet teaching from the conscious level of (500+ which is unconditional non-duality love.)
The current level of Catholicism. Also the level of the Ganges River, which demonstrates the power of spiritual intention, the power of prayer. It calibrates there despite having sewage from 100 metropolitan areas, all kinds of filth, even bodies.
From this level upward, it is the domain of saints, advanced spiritual students, and healers. A capacity for enormous patience and the persistence of a positive attitude in the face of prolonged adversity is characteristic of this level. The hallmark of this state is Compassion.
The Old Testament calibrates at only 190. However, Genesis is at 660, Psalms is 650, Proverbs is 350. If these are excluded then the remaining Old Testament calibrates at only 125. The New Testament calibrates at 640. However if Revelations were removed (calibrates at only 70) then the New Testament would calibrate at 790.
Salvation of humanity as a whole is of primary concern. Spiritual reality, essences, and understandings are of importance. Form and its details are irrelevant except as a necessary style for communication. Physical discomfort starts to increase quite visibly in these levels of consciousness.
The Upanishads -are Hindu scriptures that constitute the core teachings of Vedanta. The Upanishads have exerted an important influence on the Hindu philosophy and were collectively considered one of the 100 Most Influential Books Ever Written by the British poet Martin Seymour-Smith.
This is the maximum energy level that can be tolerated by the human body and nervous system. It is the extremely rare level of avatars from ages past. No human has ever existed with a consciousness calibration higher than 1000. The archetypes Christ, Buddha, and Krishna are at this level. This state is also the existence of Buddhahood, Christ Consciousness, At-Oneness with the Source Manifest and Unmanifest.
* Powerful patterns are associated with health; weak patterns are associated with sickness. Every thought, emotion, word & action has one pattern or the other. Every moment of our day we are either moving towards health or sickness.
@Javfly33 Yep, this is what struck me as well. Putting numbers on these kinds of things never works. You can't 'measure' these things with such precision. Yeah of course you can say Jesus Christ > Osama bin Laden. But you can't really put numbers on it.
@Leo Gura Due to the fact that some other measurements were not considered adecuted, I do not think these studies should be discredited. I suggest that you inquire about the studies of Dr David Hawkins. This is just the beginning, it is the beginning of measuring at a certain level the advances in actions, thoughts, books, personalities to achieve ENLIGHTENMENT. In a few years it will be possible to obtain better and more precise measurement mechanisms. "Measurement" sounds very "basic" very absolute ... however it is a way of guiding us to understand this 3rd and 4th dimension in which we live, other higher dimensions as well ... and where we are going. Path - path to enlightenment.
First of all, we are way over-generalizing here. There are certain aspects of the left-wing collective that are indeed like that of people like Ben Shapiro. For example, both are still entrenched in survival needs. But buy-and-large, left-wingers are WAY ahead of Shapiro in terms of overall consciousness. The quick-phrases that Hawkins's system uses (ex. anger-pride) can quickly make two groups look the same even though they're fundamentally different. Make sure to look at what's driving these different groups, what values each hold, etc., not just the exterior expressions of each.
If Dr. Hawkins is speaking of integrity here by way of using measurements, I can see how he has scored Ben Shapiro over the left. It is not that I like or agree with Ben Shapiro. I don't. He is much too far right for my taste. But, integrity wise, he does stick to his views impeccably. And anyway how is Dr. Hawkin's method inferior to the colored spiral method of rating what level individuals or societies are on? It's all very similar imho. One method uses guessing and rating by colors and the other by observing and using spiritual qualities to rate on a scale.
This is just pointing out that we don't know everything we think we do about everybody. Often times years after the death of an admired personage, things come out about them that were not known at the time they lived. Look at some of the sports coaches and stars and big names in Hollywood who it turns out were secretly scum bags the whole time they were celebrated.
Hawkins wasn't making up the answers to who had more integrity than others. He was just using a method which seemed to provide him with a way to question his assumptions and receive responses. I also thought it was rather airy fairy at first, but when reading his explanation as to how he learned about and tested these methods it sounds a bit more scientific. Especially when he tested questions using persons who did not speak his or our language using no translation, and yet the results were what we would all commonly expect. It still seems a little iffy to use kinesiology, but we have no idea how it might evolve in the next 100 or 500 years. Someone may discover it's the real deal when searching for truth.
It's an interesting concept but to me it just looks like he was just going off on some sort of mental tangent or play for his own amusement. I can kinda relate to this cause I enjoy sorting and ranking stuff in my free time as a sort of hobby. Really not much more to this than that. It is somewhat accurate from a broad perspective but when you start comparing individuals on the list you start to see how it is mostly bologna.
@Enlightenment You and others have free will of course and can judge as you like. What changed my mind, or rather woke me up from the judgemental state the ego prefers, was reading his life story written by a somewhat skeptical journalist who found in Hawkins general demeanor no evidence of being some sort of con artist or scammer. It's a short but interesting story of a seeker of Truth.
Some states are of short-term nature, for example, the effects of a drug. And some states are of long-term nature when you, for instance, have a transformative experience that changes your perception of life forever.
There are different concepts about the levels of consciousness out there, like the three levels of consciousness by Philip Holder, the four levels of consciousness by Dr. Bob Gnius Gibson, and the seven levels of consciousness by Richard Barret.
Guilt is self-indulgence and to alleviate guilt we require acceptance and forgiveness. By being compassionate towards ourselves we can see that it is not necessary to suffer from one mistake over and over again.
While they are highly dependent, society often considers individuals on this level as a burden and drain of resources. Therefore, the motivation to help such individuals is often low. Many people feel even disgusted towards the homeless and others at this level of consciousness.
This level is higher than apathy because by feeling something you are at least starting to escape the numbness. Grief is a state of loss and sadness, and most of us have experienced it for a period of time.
People on this level of consciousness are in a state of hyperarousal and are often stuck there for a long time. On a pathological level, fear can manifest in the form of anxiety disorders, phobias, PTSD, social withdrawal, or even substance addiction.
Occasionally, anger can manifest as overly aggressive behavior and physical assault. In relationships, this is expressed as spousal or child abuse. A person that is on the level of anger, tries to get their way through intimidation and dominance.
Pride is the first level where you start to feel good. However, this is deceiving, as the good feeling comes from an inflated ego perspective. Being better than someone else and looking down on others.
This level of consciousness was and is the reason for many wars and much suffering. Religious wars and zealotry, political terrorism, and nationalism are the results of pride and hatred.
At the level of willingness, one is committed to participating in life. Work is not only being done but done well. This commonly leads to success in all areas of life; willingness attracts abundance.
People in willingness receive positive feedback from society and contribute to society. They are willing to face inner issues, tend to become self-correcting, and learn from others. You have willpower, self-discipline, and are an excellent student.
Hawkins states this is the level of science and medicine, the level of Einstein and Freud. At this level of consciousness knowledge and education are highly valued. Think of rationality, conceptualization, comprehension, understanding, logic, and clear thinking.
Love manifests in the form of compassion, forgiveness, nurturing, and support. In love, you bypass reason as you recognize and understand the core and totality of a problem without resorting to thoughts and intellectualization.
Joy shines forth when love becomes increasingly unconditional. In contrast to spontaneous joy in pleasurable activities, joy as a level of consciousness is experienced in all activities.
