Ice Racing

Ice racing began at the Rat Hole today. Large fast track , we will
be out tomorrow around 1 or so. If anyone wants to come take a look we
are parking on the north end this year, good view of the big 60mph
sweeper !

The Rat Hole is a storm sewer pond behind Wholesale Sports on the
Idywyld service road (turn at TRX RV sign)

Ha, Garry499 you picked a pretty good year to move to Saskatoon!
These sub-tropical temperatures are nuts! We haven't even been down
to our average temperatures yet this winter! You're probably telling
everyone back home that we're all wusses and that our winters aren't
nearly as cold as we make them out to be. :)

To give you a little more info, the Idylwyld service road is at the
north end of the city by the airport (but on the east side of
Idylwyld), and TRX RV is just north of 51st Street. There's a
Princess Auto up there beside the Wholesale Sports too.

Hey Criss
Thanks for the info! Life is still a little insane but before long Ill
be able to stop to breathe and take a peek out there. Ive been to
princess already so I have a good Idea where to look. Do guys go out
there every weekend or something? Im still looking for the right dirt
bike project ( meaning cheep ) to get me thu these " tough " Saskatoon
winters! I got a RT 180 with a bad tranny in peices...Should be fun
for a winter beater! Hahaha..Cant wait to get out on my KLR this
spring and explore for riding spots...See ya around.

I too am looking forward to spring already (well I have been since
November). Darren and the ice racing crew get to ride all winter
until the ice gets weak though. I'm not sure if they're out there
every weekend...

We rode by there on Sunday but didn't see anyone... maybe it was too
late in the day.
Afterwards we rode up to Martensville but the trails were completely
iced over... had some good times riding on/off/around the highway.

WOW! That Video was so Bad Ass! Holigin! :) FYYFY...hahaha How did
that KLR suspension handle that?

Don't let the cops see that. The law says that when you enter a
highway (road) from the ditch you have to come to a complete stop.
There may be a couple of minor moving violations there...

Awesome to watch some riding in the middle of winter! That looked
like an absolute blast! I got out on the Versys on Monday afternoon
for a bit, but no off-road...

its ok Chris. It's all just video editing magic.. didn't even leave
the road, in fact that's not even me.

Darren, are you guys out there on both saturdays and sundays?

Not sure which day we are riding this weekend, will post when we
figure it out. I have two flats to deal with before I can ride and
have a new back tire to mount anyway. Not looking forward to the work
involved, a motorcross tire stuffed with a sportbike tire and covered
with 500 razor sharp screws is a real bitch to wrestle on and off a
rim with out any pinch flats !
