MEETING NOTIFICATION

The bi-monthly meeting of the Springfield-Area Sustainable Energy
Association (SASEA) will feature:
Topic: Which Clean Energy Investments Are Right For You.

Even after you've changed all our lightbulbs, gotten a home energy
retrofit, started biking to work, and installed solar panels, there is
still a way to reduce your carbon footprint and benefit from the
transition to a clean energy economy. Your investments are ownership
of real companies, doing business in the real economy. You probably
own parts of large oil, gas, and coal companies without even knowing
it. Even most Socially Responsible mutual funds owned BP before the
Gulf Oil disaster, because they are concerned with a broad range of
issues of which the environment is only one, and Peak Oil may not even
be on their radar.

This seminar will give you the tools you need to decide which clean
energy investments are right for you, if you have only a few thousand
dollars in an IRA or have a good million tucked away for a secure
retirement. We'll discuss the pros and cons of clean energy mutual
funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs), and stock portfolios. For
investors who want to use mutual funds or ETFs, you should leave the
talk knowing which ones are best for you. For investors interested in
a stock portfolio, we'll discuss a variety ways to build a portfolio
and how to balance greenery, potential return, and risk, with
individual stock examples.
